FAQs
Everything you need to know about flying with us.
Are you guys a flight school?
Absolutely not. We are purely a social network for young pilots. We do not provide flight instruction or have any employees. We do not own or rent aircraft as an organization. However, we have members across the state in various flight schools and flight clubs, and can help provide opportunities to fly wherever we are!
Is there an age limit?
While there is not technically an age limit, we were founded as a space for Gen-Z aged aviators (born 1997 to 2012.) While we will not turn you away if outside these limits, the core mission may be mismatched with your circumstances.
Are there any membership fees?
No. Carolina Zulu is a 100% free social community. We don't charge dues. The only costs you'll ever have are splitting rental fuel if you ride along, or buying your own lunch at group fly-ins or events!
Do I need a pilot's license to join?
Absolutely not! Anyone who is interested in flight training or actively flight training is free to join. We have many mentors in our community who can actually help provide a shoulder to lean on as you earn your pilot's license.
Do I have to live near established community hubs to join?
Absolutely not! Membership is open to anyone within the borders of North and South Carolina. We can provide assistance in even creating a community at your home airport!
